Putin says Russia needs to support internal demand for metals

MOSCOW, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- Russian needs to encourage and support internal demand for metal products, including development of the construction industry, President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting, devoted to the metallurgical complex, on Wednesday.

“I want to highlight the importance of internal demand. It should be supported and stimulated, first of all, by increasing housing, infrastructural, commercial and industrial construction, by production of a wide range of products that use metals,” he said.

Putin added that there are no reasons to expect that Europe’s attitude toward Russia can change, and the factor should be considered while designing the development programs.

Russia has always been a reliable metals exporter, he also said.
